To commemorate the 10th anniversary of its collaboration with Rafael Nadal, Richard Mille has just released a new timepiece with a distinctly "tennis-inspired" feel – the "RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal". The skeletonized design is inspired by tennis rackets, pushing the boundaries of professional sports watch design once again. The tonneau-shaped case features a novel and layered design, with Nadal's nickname, RAFA, engraved on the side. Instead of a traditional dial, the new timepiece mimics the construction of a tennis racket, using a 0.27mm diameter steel cable woven into a mesh and suspended inside the case. The movement is then secured to the mesh with metal hooks. This design is not only lightweight but also cushions the impact of high-intensity shocks on the movement. The watch features a steel cable mesh dial and skeletonized hands.
